Eatvora is designed to be up and running in under 5 minutes. You don't need to create an account, input your entire kitchen, or follow any complicated setup. Just download it and start scanning.

This guide walks you through exactly what to do in your first week to get the most out of the app.

Day 1: Your First Scan

The fastest way to fill your pantry is to scan your grocery receipt the next time you shop. Eatvora reads the receipt using your camera, identifies every item, and adds them to your pantry with estimated expiry dates — all in about 30 seconds.

1

Download Eatvora

Free on the App Store and Google Play. No account needed to get started.

2

Tap the scan button

On the home screen, tap the camera icon. Point it at your grocery receipt and hold still for a moment.

3

Review and confirm

Eatvora shows you everything it found. You can adjust any expiry dates or remove items that aren't food.

4

Your pantry is ready

Everything is now tracked. You'll get alerts as items approach their expiry date.

No receipt? You can also scan individual barcodes or add items manually. But receipt scanning is by far the fastest way to get started.

Day 2–3: Let the Alerts Work For You

Once your pantry is populated, Eatvora starts monitoring your food automatically. When something is getting close to expiry, you'll get a notification. Tap it and you'll immediately see recipe suggestions that use that ingredient.

This is the core of how Eatvora saves food: it catches items before they expire rather than after. You don't have to remember anything — the app remembers for you.

Day 4–5: Try the AI Recipe Coach

Tap the Coach tab to talk to Eatvora's AI assistant. Tell it what's in your fridge and it will suggest recipes using those exact ingredients. You can be as specific or vague as you like:

The Coach pulls from your pantry automatically, so it always knows what you have and what's expiring soon.

Day 6–7: Check Your Savings

After your first week, check the savings card on the home screen. It shows you how much food you've rescued — items that were flagged as expiring soon that you actually used. For most families, the first week shows a saving of $15–$40.

Turn on notifications if you haven't already. This is the most important step for long-term results. Without alerts, you'll need to remember to open the app. With alerts, the app comes to you.

Tips From People Who Use It Daily

  1. Scan every receipt, every shop. The more consistent you are, the more accurate your pantry becomes.
  2. Do a quick fridge check on Sunday. Open Eatvora and sort by expiry date to plan the week around what needs using first.
  3. Use the Coach before takeaway nights. You might already have everything for a quick dinner — the Coach will find it.
  4. Mark items as used, not just expired. This helps the savings tracker show your real impact.

The whole system is designed so that once it's set up, it takes less than two minutes a week to maintain. Most of the work happens in the background while you go about your day.
